USA Cycling’s Safe Sport Program
USA Cycling is a self-funded nonprofit that depends on its community rather than the federal government. Their work — from local youth racing to the Olympic podium — is made possible by your membership, private gifts, and USOPC grants. By joining, you directly invest in the growth and competitive success of the sport across the United States.
USA Cycling prioritizes athlete safety above all else. To maintain an environment free from abuse and misconduct, all participants must comply with the USA Cycling Safe Sport Program Policies, including the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP).
Prohibited Conduct
Participants must refrain from any behavior defined as Prohibited Conduct by the U.S. Center for SafeSport Code. This includes sexual, physical, and emotional misconduct, as well as bullying, hazing, harassment, and MAAPP violations.
MAAPP & Consent
The MAAPP guidelines establish boundaries to limit isolated one-on-one interactions between adults and minors during all sanctioned activities. If your role involves interacting with minor athletes, you must download and collect the required consent forms.
Reporting Requirements
Adult participants are mandated reporters for any policy violations. However, USA Cycling encourages everyone to report concerns so the organization can take action.
Sexual Misconduct: Report directly to the U.S. Center for SafeSport.
Other Misconduct/MAAPP Violations: Report via the USA Cycling Misconduct Form.
