Anthony Odiong, Catholic Priest Accused of Multiple Sexual Assaults, Fathered Children

“Catholic priest accused of sexual assault fathered children of victims, court hears”, an article by Charlie Scudder and Ramon Antonio Vargas, The Guardian.

Born in Nigeria and now a naturalized U.S. citizen, Anthony Odiong came to the United States in 2006 and worked in Texas and Louisiana as a Catholic priest. Odiong is currently facing five criminal charges of sexual assault in the first degree and two more in the second degree in Texas, with more charges likely to be added. He is under a $5.5 million bond due to plans to flee the U.S. for Nigeria where he is building a “luxurious” home. There is an ongoing financial crimes investigation in Texas as it appears Odiong is very wealthy from money given to him directly by congregants for his claims of healing and spiritual guidance.

As mentioned in the article, Lamothe Law Firm attorney Kristi Schubert has demanded damages for her client from the Archdiocese of New Orleans officials because of sexual assault by Anthony Odiong.
