Release of ex-US detective child molester puts kids at risk, says victim

Stanley Burkhardt, who investigated child abuse cases and acknowledged preying on minors, recently released, written by Ramon Antonio Vargas for The Guardian.

After many years of molesting minors as a Louisiana Detective entrusted to work with minors (since the 1970’s), the molestation of a family member, and being convicted of child sexual abuse and mailing/receiving images depicting the sexual assault of children, Burkardt is now a free man.

“Burkhardt is a former Louisiana detective who has acknowledged preying on minors and has been investigated in connection with a series of murders. Richard Windmann said the latest opportunity at comparative freedom granted to Burkhardt – who previously investigated child abuse cases for the New Orleans police department – is ‘abhorrent’ and ‘a repeated injury to his victims’.”

Richard Windmann is the president of Survivors of Childhood Sex Abuse and a survivor of childhood abuse by Burkhardt.

“His attorney, Kristi Schubert, on Wednesday called it “very disturbing … Burkhardt is out of jail at all” given his history of parole violations.”
