Congress passes law invalidating NDAs in sexual abuse cases

Congress Passes Law Restoring Victims’ Voices, Banning NDAs in Sexual Harassment Cases, Kim Elsesser, Forbes Magazine.

Congress recently voted to invalidate nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) that businesses may require sexual abuse survivors to sign. These NDAs do not allow employees to speak about harassment or assault they experienced on the job.

The Speak Out Act restores the voices of survivors of these survivors. It is hoped that stopping these NDAs not only gives survivors a voice, but may deter future sexual harassment and assault events at work.

Lamothe Law Firm has particular experience in litigation involving sex abuse and sexual assault, and we are known for working diligently to find justice for the victims. If you or someone you love was sexually abused as a child by a church employee, please contact us today for a confidential consultation about your situation.
