The End of Forced Arbitration of Sexual Misconduct Cases

Last February, the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate overwhelmingly passed the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act. President Biden signed this significant legislation into law on March 2, 2022, officially banning forced arbitration for sexual misconduct cases and allowing sexual assault and sexual harassment survivors to sue their perpetrators in court. Until now, forced arbitration protected employers and perpetrators and was often used to silence the survivors.
