Lawsuit Filed for Nursing Home Sexual Assault

The Lamothe Law Firm filed a lawsuit alleging that our client, an 87 year old woman suffering from dementia who was a resident of a Louisiana nursing home, was sexually assaulted at the nursing home by another patient. The alleged perpetrator was arrested after the nursing home staff discovered him laying on top of the woman in her bed.

In a nursing home situation, dependent adults or elderly people are often defenseless to sexual assault. These patients may have physical or mental issues that make them easier to overwhelm or exploit.

A civil suit can never reverse the harm caused by a sexual predator, but damages recovered in a civil lawsuit can hold the assailant and/or the nursing home financially accountable, and help with the financial burden and devastating consequences resulting from a sexual assault. We urge you to contact us to schedule a confidential meeting to discuss your situation and your right to compensation.
