Frank Lamothe is a seasoned trial lawyer and veteran plaintiff’s advocate with decades of hands-on experience resolving serious personal injury and wrongful death cases. He continues to earn his already stellar reputation as an extremely skilled trial advocate who conducts himself with integrity and the highest standards of professionalism. Frank has tried and won many multi-million-dollar cases during his career in federal and state courts throughout the country, including in Louisiana, Colorado, Arizona, Florida, and Mississippi.

Frank is personally committed to and passionate about defending the rights of plaintiffs. In a recent media profile, Frank noted, It is professionally satisfying to help individuals with limited recourse. These are the forgotten people in our society. Large corporations can spend large sums of money on lawyers to serve their interests. The working man or woman has a limited ability to hire quality lawyers to make his/her life better. My job is to even the score.

Among the most esteemed and go-to trial lawyers in New Orleans, Frank’s practice centers around his genuine concern for individuals who have been wronged or injured. Inside and outside the courtroom, Frank brings an absolute commitment to knowing the law and trial procedure. His hard-earned and battle-tested skills are grounded in diligence, hard work, and smart legal strategy. Frank consistently crafts highly persuasive arguments delivered via effective storytelling and grounded in sound legal theory, focused on realizing the right result.

Frank delivers an undeniably deep bench of veteran skill when trying sexual assault and abuse claims, maritime, offshore, Jones Act, oil field claims, and industrial, trucking, and motorcycle accident lawsuits. He has handled many mass torts cases, including representing numerous businesses and individuals who have suffered losses in the BP Oil Spill. He also actively served on the economic loss task force in the federal court litigation filed in the matter.

A “lawyer’s lawyer” at the core, Frank feels privileged to be the “go-to” referral source for other attorneys seeking comprehensive and effectual plaintiff advocacy for their clients, colleagues, and network of professionals and personal contacts. Lawyers who know Frank truly appreciate his vast trial experience in personal injury litigation and his seemingly innate ability to win for those he serves.

In particular, Frank works tirelessly to find justice for sexual abuse and assault survivors. He was instrumental in settling a group of clergy sex abuse cases for over $5 million. He also lectures regularly on sex abuse in Louisiana and authored the treatise “Sex Abuse in Louisiana.” Given the highly personal nature of sexual abuse and assault claims under the law, Frank is valued by prospective and existing clients for his ability to create a safe atmosphere to tell their stories and for his discretion and compassion when safeguarding not only their rights but also their dignity and comfort in the face of unimaginable events.

A believer in supporting the development of the next generation of lawyers, Frank taught Trial Advocacy at the Tulane University School of Law, the Paul F. Hebert School of Law at Louisiana State University, and the School of Law at Loyola University in New Orleans. He served on numerous seminar programs and lectured at many continuing legal education programs in the areas of maritime personal injury and death claims, as well as on various subjects relating to his trial practice.

At the heart of Frank’s personal and professional life is an unwavering dedication to improving the communities in which he lives and works. Most recently, Frank spearheaded the creation of the Lamothe Charitable Fund, which supports disadvantaged children’s causes.

Frank’s commitment and trial skills are well-known throughout the community. Below is a sampling of testimonials about his talent:

“You are a no-nonsense, business-like, precise courtroom practitioner who asks questions in a straightforward and rapid manner. You relentlessly draw out a witness until you secure all information needed or required, and you methodically pursue your agenda regardless of irritation, interruption, or pressure.” – Trial Consultant

“Frank is one of the finest trial lawyers in the United States. He is also a shining example of what it means to be a true professional: dedicated to helping others, unfailingly polite to fellow attorneys and members of the public, (and) diligent in all cases he undertakes.” – Attorney Referral

“I would like to express how grateful I am to you for agreeing to co-counsel my oil drilling case. When I met you… I knew you were a great lawyer but had no idea how accomplished you really were. I have been practicing law since 1979, have been around many excellent trial lawyers. Without question, you are at a completely higher level and… the best trial attorney I have ever been associated with.” – Attorney Referral

“I completely enjoyed the process (of working with you) which, as you know, is extremely stressful and time-consuming. All I can say is that you are the Peyton Manning of the trial bar… (and) I highly recommend you to anyone who has a large case and needs the expertise of a superstar.” – Attorney Referral
