Frank has attended numerous national meetings of motorcycle accident attorneys. He is a member of the Motorcycle Litigation Practice group of the American Association of Justice.

We understand motorcycle injury law and motorcycle dynamics and physics. We understand the loss a motorcyclist suffers in a serious crash due to the negligence of an inattentive motorist.

Motorcycle accidents are unique. Unless you ride motorcycles you cannot understand how motorcycle accidents occur. If you are not a motorcycle rider, you should not be handling motorcycle cases.

Frank Lamothe has been consistently recognized as one of the leading trial attorneys in Louisiana and the nation.

CAUSES OF MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENTS

Most motorcycle accidents are caused by the inability or failure of an automobile driver to see the motorcyclist.

The single most common cause of motorcycle accidents is the left turning motorist who turns directly into the path of a motorcyclist who was operating his motorcycle safely.

The next most common cause of motorcycle accident is by the driver who pulls out of a side street directly into the path of a motorcyclist.

Changing lanes and not seeing a motorcyclist is another common cause. Many trucks do not see motorcycles in their “blind” spots.

Another common cause of motorcycle accidents is following a motorcyclist too closely and striking him from the rear.

Road conditions can also contribute to motorcycle accidents. Sometimes road conditions are unsafe and the governmental body responsible for maintaining the road can be sued for failure to maintain the roadway. Sometimes roadways have design defects which contribute to motorcycle accidents.

Sometimes a motorcyclist may be at fault. Even if a motorcyclist is partially at fault, he can still recover if there is also fault on the part of the driver or other party.

If you were a passenger on a motorcycle where the motorcyclist is at fault, you can also take legal action and protect your rights.
